Vitrase is a preparation of purified ovine testicular hyaluronidase, a protein enzyme. The exact chemical structure of this enzyme is unknown. However, the amino acid sequence for the primary structure of the enzyme has been deduced from the sequence of purified pep tides.

Vitrase (hyaluronidase injection) is supplied as a sterile, nonpreserved, colorless solution with a pH of 6.4 to 7.2.

Each single-use vial contains:

Active: 200 USP Units/mL of ovine hyaluronidase
